Find your way to Southgate

Southgate is a world-class entertainment, shopping, and restaurant destination along Yarra River banks in Melbourne. Getting into Southgate By

Taxi

Wherever you are coming from, ask the taxi to drop you off at Southgate avenue right at the river promenade entrance to Pure South. The entry to Southgate Avenue is through City Road. 

You will also find a Taxi Rank located close to the front of Eureka Skydeck and the Travelodge.

Car

Use the City Road to enter the 24-hour undercover car park through Southgate Avenue.

Tram

Drop at St. Kilda Road / National Gallery Victoria tram stop. Then, cross to St. Kilda Road and walk by Hamer Hall to get to Southgate.

Drop at Flinders Street Station / Federation Square tram stop. Then, cross the Princes Bridge and walk till you get into Southgate.

Bus

Drop at Flinders Street Train Station. Use the underpass to cross the Southbank Pedestrian Bridge to get to Southgate.

Water

Use River Ferry or Water Taxi, drop at the Southgate Berth which is right in front of the centre.

Train

Drop at Flinders Street Train Station. Use the underpass to cross the Southbank Pedestrian Bridge to get to Southgate.

Cycle

Use the Yarra River Bicycle route to get to the Southbank promenade right in front of Southgate. Bikes are not allowed in the centre, but you will find bike racks in the promenade where you can secure your bike.

Getting to Southgate From

St Kilda Road

Take the temporary stairs at St Kilda Road close to the top of Hamer Hall. If you are using a bike, pram, or wheelchair, take the accessible ramp behind Hamer Hall to get to Southgate Avenue, the promenade is on your right.

The City

If you are coming from Bourke Street Mall, you should take a tram down Swanston Street and drop at the National Gallery of Victoria from where it is only three minutes’ walk past Hamer Hall to Southgate, or

You can take a tram from Elizabeth Street to Flinders Street. Then, use the underpass and cross the Southgate Pedestrian Bridge.

Flinders Street Station

Use the Princes Bridge stairs, or the underpass across the Southbank Pedestrian Bridge.
